I'm Kelli, and I've never met a craft I didn't want to try. Fashion design, interior decorating, cardmaking, crocheting, embroidery; if it involves making something with my hands, I'm in. In 2023, I turned that obsession into The Desert Tulip: a small boutique where every item is designed, created, or hand-selected to make someone's day a little more fun.

How a Craft Obsession Became a Boutique

For years, I made things for friends and family — shirts for trips, quirky tea towels as housewarming gifts, curated bundles for the book lovers in my life. They kept telling me I needed to sell this stuff. Eventually, I listened.

What started as an Etsy shop in 2023 grew into a full online boutique, and our Etsy community is still going strong alongside it. In 2024, our shirts were featured on Scrapbook.com's livestream crafting videos — a moment that reminded me people really do connect with products that have personality behind them.

Everything in the shop falls into two categories: items we create by hand in Gold Canyon, Arizona, and items we've carefully chosen because they fit the vibe of this community perfectly.

For our original designs, I use high-quality heat transfer vinyl and press every graphic myself. That means your crafting tee, bookish tote bag, or sarcastic tea towel was made specifically for you after you order — not pulled from a warehouse shelf. Every design in the shop started as an idea I couldn't get out of my head, and I love that they end up with people who get the joke or feel the vibe.

We also take on custom projects from time to time — team shirts for work, matching designs for a family reunion, a phrase you've been dying to put on something. It's a smaller part of what we do, but it's one of my favorite things. If you've got an idea, reach out and let's talk about it.
